Granbury Theatre Academy Summer Camp

It’s time to register for our kids summer theater camp at GTA!  This summer we will be producing Seussical Jr.  It is a high energy musical based upon the Dr. Seuss story, “Horton Hears a Who”.
Note that you receive an early bird discount if you register by June 1st!  The age range is 6-18.
We believe our summer camp is one of the most important things we do at Granbury Theatre Academy.  In addition to simply being a fun time, putting together a production teaches children many valuable lessons that carry over into everyday life.  They learn confidence balanced with humility.  They will use their imaginations to create wonderful characters that can only live through them.  They will be challenged to demonstrate personal rehearsal discipline and focus.  On a more technical level, they will learn basic proper vocal technique, some basic dance technique, and also begin to understand how to develop a character.
The other (and I believe most important) benefit I have observed is the friendships that are formed.  Sometimes students who are artistically inclined find themselves feeling like a square peg in school and other social situations.  They just view the world (beautifully) differently and it can feel isolating sometimes. However, when they walk through these doors, they are home.  They find their people. They are understood.  They fit.  They thrive. I believe a C.S. Lewis quote says it best:
“Friendship … is born at the moment when one man says to another “What! You too? I thought that no one but myself . . .”
We certainly hope that your young artist will join us on our journey this summer.  If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact me.
To register, come by the GTC opera house or call 817-579-0952 or
See you in July!
